How to Automate Lifecycle Transitions

The best way to automate product transitions through lifecycle stages is by using a workflow.

1. Navigate to the Workflows section in your Admin settings.

2. Create a new workflow or edit an existing one.

3. Configure triggers based on product attributes or conditions related to the lifecycle stages.

4. Set actions to automatically move products to the next lifecycle stage when conditions are met.

5. Save and test the workflow.

Troubleshooting

Q: Why can’t I reorder lifecycle stages?

A: Reordering stages is currently not supported. If the order is critical, you will need to recreate the lifecycle.

Q: My workflow is not automating transitions.

A: Ensure that the workflow’s triggers and actions are correctly set up and aligned with the lifecycle conditions.

Q: Can I have multiple lifecycles for one schema?

A: No, only one lifecycle can be assigned to a schema.

FAQ

Q: Can lifecycle stages advance automatically without a workflow?

A: No, automation requires workflows to transition products based on lifecycle conditions.

Q: Can I edit a lifecycle after it has been created?

A: Yes, you can edit stages and conditions as needed, but you cannot change the order of stages.
