Create a New Auto Populate Rule

1. Log in to Pimberly and navigate to Admin.

2. Go to Automation and click Auto Populate.

3. Select the media set attribute where you want the assets assigned.

4. Decide if the rule will use an exact match to the filename or match the start of the filename.

5. Enter the expression defining the filename structure (e.g., {primaryId} + "_1.jpg" matches files with the primaryId followed by _1.jpg).

6. (Optional) Tick the Set Images checkbox to assign images automatically. If left unticked, Pimberly will recommend images but not assign them.


Edit an Auto Populate Rule

1. Navigate to Admin > Automation > Auto Populate.

2. Click the Pencil Icon next to the rule you wish to edit.

3. Update the Comparator, Expression, Set Images, or Generate Collection settings.

Note: The media set assigned to the rule cannot be changed.


Delete an Auto Populate Rule

1. Go to Admin > Automation > Auto Populate.

2. Click the Trash Can Icon next to the rule you want to delete.


Use Auto Populate to Create Collections of Products

1. Navigate to Admin > Automation > Auto Populate.

2. Create or modify a rule by following the steps outlined earlier.

3. Tick the Generate Collection checkbox.

4. Add the metakeys corresponding to the Primary ID for the main product and additional items being sold.


Troubleshooting

Q: My rule isn’t assigning assets as expected.

A: Ensure the filename matches the expression exactly and the naming schema is consistent.

Q: I can’t edit the media set assigned to a rule.

A: Media set attributes cannot be changed once assigned to a rule. Create a new rule if necessary.

Q: Images aren’t being automatically assigned.

A: Ensure the Set Images checkbox is ticked when creating or editing the rule.

Q: Can I use Auto Populate for multiple media set attributes?

A: Yes, but each attribute requires its own rule.

Q: What happens if no asset matches the rule?

A: Pimberly will not assign or recommend any images.
