A channel is a means of publishing product content to retailers, distributors and other data consumers, or of integrating to a downstream system. Common examples of channels include eCommerce websites, warehouse systems, eBay, Google and Amazon.
Data for different channels can be easily customised through scoping at product level. Channels in Pimberly allow you to define how products should be transformed and delivered to a particular sales channel through connectors.
Channels contain all of the configuration necessary to export data from Pimberly, such as the connection type (e.g. FTP, REST, Magento, SAP Hybris), the frequency with which we export the data, and a mapping from your Pimberly data model to the target data model.
Creating a channel allows users to automate the process of exporting data from Pimberly to a range of other systems with control over how and when this is done.
