New Features & Improvements
Show affected attribute scopes and locales and previous values in Activity Log
Some improvements have been made around the Activity Log for products, allowing users to see which scope and locale was amended for a particular attribute as well as the previous and new values:
Multiple choice in tree view for Category, Schema Class, Lifecycle Stage
When using the attribute picker option to filter products, users are now able to select multiple options for the Category, Schema Taxonomy and Lifecycle Stage attributes. These function as an 'Or' selection. In the example below, products which have any of the four selected categories will be returned by the filter:
Option to keep URL when revising a digital asset
When uploading a new revision of a digital asset, Pimberly's standard behaviour is to provide a new URL for the asset. Users will now be able retain the original asset URL when a new asset version is uploaded. This is a per-account setting which can be enabled by contacting us directly.
Schema: Ability to import & export a schema's taxonomy
With the taxonomy import/export option enabled for an account, users are able to export the current taxonomy setup from within the Schema settings, amend the attributes assigned to particular product types and taxonomy levels, and re-import to update the taxonomy configuration. Please note that for any attributes, the Attribute Unique Name (found in the Attribute Definition dialog) must be used.
Add DPI option to image exports
Image DPI metadata can now be specified on image export via a channel when using the 'Convert' or 'Resize' function.
If the DPI value is not set, images that are already in the target file format will retain their original DPI value, and converted images will have the new default of 72 assigned. If the DPI value has been set, all images will have the DPI value assigned.
Logs: Show absolute dates instead of relative dates
For general Logs, Feed and Channel logs, the absolute date will now be shown instead of the relative date/time, for example for a feed run earlier today. This will now show today's date and time rather than '3 hours ago'.
FTP upload: improve efficiency of large upload jobs
Improvements have been made to increase the efficiency of large FTP upload jobs when exporting original assets.
API - support InDesign file upload
Pimberly now supports upload of InDesign files via the v2 API, as follows:
Have a REST feed with admin access
Open Postman and use the URL: POST
Set the header:
authorization <your key>
Set the body: form-data -> key name blank, type = file, value = the InDesign file
Submit the API request
Updated Media Set export options
When mapping out a Media Set attribute on an ad-hoc export or channel, the following changes have been made:
- Output CloudFront CDN URLs has been renamed Output CDN URLs (Recommended) and is now the default option for new channels and exports (see details below)
- Output raw URLs has been renamed Output FTP or S3 URLs (Deprecated)
- Output AWS S3 URLs has been renamed Output S3 URLs (Deprecated)
- Output size in bytes has been renamed Output file size in bytes
- Output display size has been renamed Output file size with units
- Output sequence number (asset position in set) has been renamed Output position in set
- Deprecated options have been moved to the bottom of the list
The change to the default mapping option does affect existing channel mappings.
Output CDN URLs is now the default option. This will produce cdn.pimber.ly URLs, which are served via Amazon's CloudFront content delivery network, which will provide better performance overall compared to S3 URLs which reference a specific Amazon region.
Added Media Set export options when exporting Media Sets from Items, Parents and Product Sets
When mapping out a Media Set attribute from the Items and Parents nodes, and from Product Set attributes, the standard export options for Media Sets are now available. For example, this can be used to export the URL of an asset stored on the parent of a product.
NB: This method does not support exporting each asset within the media set on its own row. Media Sets containing multiple assets will be exported as a list of comma-separated values.
Download button on media tab is navigating to the image URL on Amazon AWS servers rather than downloading images (PIM-1347)
Fix to ensure that assets are downloaded rather than opening in a new browser window when selecting the 'Download' button in the DAM.
CMYK JPEG images are not converted correctly (PIM-2216)
Fix to ensure that CMYK JPEG images are converted correctly for previews and on export.
NB: Due to the conversion mechanism, some colour shift (for example, increased saturation) may occur with preview images.
Ignore Source/Master Rules option on feeds no longer works (PIM-2493)
Fix to ensure that selecting the 'ignore source/master rules' option on feeds functions correctly.
Audit logs are loading a white page with no data/information (PIM-2726)
Fix to ensure audit logs are loading correctly.
Batch update completes prematurely, without updating all products (PIM-2782)
Issue affecting a few accounts has been fixed to ensure batch updates complete successfully.
Currency attribute does not display trailing zeros (PIM-2797)
Fix to allow currency attributes to display number of decimal points specified in the attribute definition accuracy.
Link to view products that are contained in taxonomy node that you're trying to delete, doesn't work (PIM-2930)
When users attempt to delete a taxonomy node with products assigned, user is presented with popup including link to list of products currently in that taxonomy. Fix to ensure link opens list of products successfully.
Unable to view common documents in the DAM
Fix to show icons for common document filetypes in the DAM, such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and plain text.
