Creating a new category tree or amending an existing tree is done via Settings > Category Trees. Select either the New Category Tree option or an existing tree to amend.
Creating a Category Tree
Select New Category Node to create a category node. This can be done for as many nodes as required.
For each category node, both a label (required) and a code (optional) can be assigned, as well as any metadata.
Once category nodes have been created, these can be re-nested into the preferred hierarchy by dragging and dropping nodes underneath each other.
The categories in the given example are now nested in a more suitable, relevant way.
As many categories and category trees can be added as required. The category tree structure can also be amended (via drag and drop) as needed.
Importing a Category Tree
After selecting New Category Tree, a tree can also be imported from an Excel or plain-text CSV file using the Import option.
The source file needs to contain alternating Code and Label columns which represent the categories in the tree, in the desired structure, as shown below:
The above data would be imported as follows:
NB: When importing from file, you are required to define a code for each node in the tree.
