Allow Feeds and Channels Run By Non-Admin Role

We have the need to allow certain people who are not administrators of PIM to initiate a start of some feeds and channels. From what I can see currently, the only way this is allowed is by giving them a full account admin role, which is a dangerous thing to do. I want to limit the true admins to just a select few.

There needs to be a role in between Power User and Admin or allow the Power User account the ability to manually run feeds and channels. An ideal scenario would be to have the ability to select what feeds/channels a user could run. Maybe by the use of a group in some way? But if easier and quicker to implement, the former scenario to run any feed/channel would be good.

We do not need more full admins in the PIM! Too easy for an accidental change by a new, inexperienced user to do a lot of damage.

  • Agree, some kind of control similar to how an admin can give access to category trees to power user would be awesome.

  • Completely agree. There are several standard functionality that is prohibited to standard users and allowing multiple departments access as account admin is dangerous.

  • I agree with this entirely.  We have almost all users set-up as Account Admin when we really shouldn't.  There is too much functionality (channels predominantly) limited to Account Admin when actually if this was under the Standard User access then we would be able to massively limit the number of Account Admin users.

For us, the Account Admin also opens up access across our different schemas, where we actually want to limit access for colleagues and the schemas that they are using.

I feel the PowerAdmin functionality is also missing which ideally we would give to our IT helpdesk.

  • Great idea!
We need to be able to have more control over user permissions
